last weekend {dirt & sand}

Long weekends are made for digging in the dirt, going to the beach and seeing friends. We did all that and more! While we’re still digging out of some boxes, getting clothes into dressers instead of piles on the floor and trying to find things like nail clippers…we set most of that aside this weekend to get out and enjoy our new town. With Chris out of town, that can be a bit exhausting for this mama, but it was really a good time. And thanks to an evening BBQ at a friend’s house, I got a little break from the 2 v 1 situation I had going on.

We had been planning on spending Monday at the beach all weekend – it was supposed to be the warmest and sunniest day…and then it rained until noon. As soon as the sun peaked out we made a break for it. It didn’t last long, but I was not going to put myself through the fits that would have happened had we not gone. Remy was all over the place, digging, drawing in the sand and playing in the water. Felix, on the other hand, didn’t like the sand on him, and wanted me to carry him most of the time. That would be totally fine, but because of the rain all morning we were at the beach right when he SHOULD be napping. You know how that goes. The rest of the afternoon was a bit of a mess, with Remy covering his ears saying “next time we shouldn’t go the the beach, we should just let Felix NAP!” You said it. Had to give it a go though.

We also started our garden – Remy’s #1 ask as we moved into this home. So, we got part of the way there and will definitely be planing next weekend. Fingers crossed the bunnies don’t eat everything.

Hope you all had wonderful weekends as well!
